"Believe it. TREVOR the musical SOARS!"
TREVOR the musical
What it's about ... unfolding in March 1981, TREVOR the musical is the story of an always inspiring and deftly heartwarming gay boy and what happens when he is shamed and ostracized by his peers after his most intimate and personal feelings are exposed.
Why you should go ... this superb, youthful ensemble, led by the remarkably talented Eli Tokash, delivers one of the best new musical works of this, or any, year, challenging us to laugh, cry and confront bias, gay bullying and issues of low self-esteem on many complex levels. Hurry to this one. These kids are growing up fast!
The takeaway ... ultimately, and inescapably, our individual destiny is to become the person we were always meant to be. Embrace it and love yourself.
Memorable moments ... ‘Do You Know? / On With the Show’, ‘Can't Wait’ and the Tasty Freez outing with Father Joe.
You will savor ... the showstopping voices of Eli Tokash, Salisha Thomas and an endearing newcomer, Tori Whaples, elastics and all.
Come early ... for convenient parking and enjoy dinner at Guildhall nearby.
