FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE
What's it about ... there used to be a time when radio was the only lifeline to a world outside of ourselves, the source for news, advice, entertainment and a friendly companion to our emotions, happy or sad and everything in between. Imagine having all of the timeless music of the legendary Louis Jordan exploding to life, not over the airwaves, but in-person through the art and artistry of superbly talented showmen, bending this memorable music into a series of life lessons for a young lad so lost in love and singing the blues that he needs five guys named Moe to show him the way.
Why you should go ... nothing short of non-stop, toe-tapping fun all night long featuring over two dozen of Jordan’s greatest hits directed smartly by Ron OJ Parson with Associate Director Felicia P. Fields and Musical Director Abdul Hamid Royal who conducted the original Broadway production -- a powerhouse team.
Who's who ... James Earl ‘Eat Moe’ Jones II, Eric A. ‘No Moe’ Lewis, Darrian ‘Little Moe’ Ford Kelvin ‘Four Eyed Moe’ Roston Jr., Lorenzo ‘Big Moe’ Rush, Jr., and Stephen ‘Blu’ Allen as Nomax. It does not get better than this.
What's to see ... Courtney O’Neill’s scenic design and Michael Alan Stein’s costumes let the good times roll. In the Court Theatre ‘Five Guys Named Moe’ fits like a glove.
The hits you’ll hear … “Messy Bessy”… “Safe, Sane and Single”… “Push Ka Pi Shi Pie”… “Reet, Petite and Gone”… “Caldonia” … “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens” … “Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying.”
Conga line or confetti cannons ... no need to worry. You can have both. Push Ka Pi Shi Pie – Eh Eh!
NOW EXTENDED through October 15th
