Rock of Ages rocks and rolls into Drury Lane Oakbrook this week. But first, Hurricane Harvey.
With massive efforts underway to stabilize the situation in Texas and surrounding areas from the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey, several regional and national groups have established methods to provide financial support.
One such national organization is Target and the following statement is from their website:
"In response to Hurricane Harvey this weekend and its impact on the Gulf Coast, Target will donate $500,000 to aid in recovery efforts. The donation will be distributed to local and national disaster relief organizations, including the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Team Rubicon, an organization that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to quickly deploy emergency response teams."
This is only one example of the many efforts underway. Give as you can to support the recovery efforts and those organizations who are helping to make a difference. ET
We continue a look back at conversations with and about the 2016-2017 Equity Jeff Awards nominations. This week in Great Performances II: American Blues Theater's It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago, Mamma Mia's Rachel Rockwell and Karl Hamilton, Evan Tyrone Martin and cabaret artist and producer Joan Curto. Be sure to check out our PicksInSix this week: HAIR at the Mercury Theater Chicago. This cast has been collecting donations for various organizations since Hair opened in July. Donations at last week's production were directed to the Wounded Warrior Project. This week they will be benefiting Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts. Bravo!
